Fulton Hogan South Canterbury Wash Point

The primary purpose of this Wash Point Upgrade is to provide a cleaning facility for the variety of training vehicles that operate within the site. The secondary purpose of the wash point is to provide a decontamination system to reduce the potential spread of Didymosphenia geminate (Didymo) which is present in the waterways within the area.

The Wash Point Upgrade point is providing a four-stage process:

a. Steel Rumble Grids to loosen dirt clods off tyres.

b. A high pressure wash system to clean the underbody and sides.

c. Decontaminant application.

d. A rinse bar to remove the decontaminant solution.

The drive over the Steel Rumble Grids help open the tread of the tyres and reduce the adhesion of dirt and debris. The spacing of the grids creates a shaking motion to help this dirt and debris to fall away. The trucks then proceed onto the Rocktec Warrior Wheel and Underbody Truck Wash.
