Watercare, Puketutu Island

 

This Wheelwash unit was set up as part of the Watercare Puketutu Island project who bought a long-term lease on the island, which is now being used to rehabilitate the island by filling the former quarry until four small hills will be created to replicate the scoria cones that were quarried in the 1950s.

Primary Features:

  • 168 carefully directed brass nozzles.
  • Up to 1800 litres per minute of water per unit.
  • 5-bar pressure.
  • Intensive washing of all surfaces of the wheels and underside.

Pumping:

  • 2 Grundfos pumps.
  • 1 Grundfos Sump Pump.

Control System:

  • Automated control of washing cycles allows programs of varying length to be selected to suit site conditions.
  • Manual/auto switch allow for continuous running.
  • Manual override to one main pump for disposal of wastewater
